The landscape that we live in inspires Harvey's emotional response in his oil paintings, and he often can be seen road or lakeside capturing it en plein air. These small paintings stand alone as an onsite capture of the day and, sometimes, can become the basis of a larger studio painting. When not outside painting, he leads workshops and regular weekly classes at Boathouse Studio, encouraging painters to become more fulfilled artists.
