I have been working in textiles for over 25 years, using silks, batiks, hand painted and dyed fabrics all,
worked by hand, to create images that invite the viewer to enter into the environments of forests,
shorelines, pebbled beaches and waterscapes.
Recently, within the last 3 years the focus of my exploration has been on using my own enlarged and
printed photographs of marshes and wetlands, carefully and extensively cut and layered over a painted
background. What kick started this new direction was finding old wallpapers while deconstructing a very
old log house in Perth On. and conceiving the idea of blending collage and paint to preserve some
stories of the old place.
