My art is a direct expression of the wonder I feel in the natural world and specifically here in Haliburton.
My fascination with the exquisite beauty of nature was forever forged at my family cottage on Boshkung
Lake, when I was no more than a toddler. My intention is to explore and share this experience of awe that I
feel whenever I encounter a flush of spectacular, sublime beauty. I do tend to focus on specific bodies of
water though. I love to explore the many faces of a single body water. I have done 38 major works of the
Gull River, and about 20 of Old Perlican Harbour in Newfoundland.
My work is mostly of water. I am colourist, a realist and I get super excited about light, luminosity and the
illusion of depth my methods magically allow me to capture. My work is mostly traditional glaze oil
painting but I also do plein air modified glaze oil techniques, gouache, drawings and photography. My work
comes in all sizes. I particularly love working large scale.
